Terms of sale
Kids may be reserved on a first come/first served basis with a 50% non-refundable deposit, which holds your kid until weaning age (8-9 weeks). All kids are bottle-fed raw Nigerian milk from birth, have their hooves trimmed and are disbudded.  They are also vaccinated twice against CD&T and given oral dewormer medication (Ivermectin) before leaving the farm.  Does and bucks are also tattooed and come with registration applications to the American Goat Society and ADGA, if so desired. We operate a very small closed herd. All of our adult animals have tested negative for CAE and CL.  All goats have originated from disease-free herds or have been born on our farm.

We guarantee that kids are healthy and visibly free of defects when they leave the farm and offer advice regarding stress-management during transition to their new home.  If a health problem or defect arises after a kid leaves our farm and a veterinarian determines that it was caused by mismanagement at our farm, we will make every effort to restore satisfaction to the buyer.
We are very flexible about when kids can be picked up, as I am a full-time farmer and generally available weekdays and weekends.  You will be notified when kids are weaned at about 8-9 weeks and ready to go home.  If kids are not picked up within two weeks of their weaning date, daily fees will be applied to their cost.  If kids are not retrieved by 12 weeks of age, and a boarding arrangement has not been made with our farm, any deposit is forfeited and they remain the property of Capsand Creamery.

  1. HI we are purchasing some land this year and would love to have a couple of your beauties for pet for our children. I am wondering what gender you suggest for first timers and also will you not have anymore until next spring? I see you have one doeling and I am afraid she would be lonely being the only one I know they are very social animals.

  2. Hi Jack! It's great to hear that you are looking for goats. They make wonderful pets, while also supporting a home dairy. Does and wethers require about the same amount of care, so they are both a good choice for first-time goat keepers. Whereas, bucks (intact males) are only kept for breeding purposes. Wethers are generally priced much lower than does, so they are particularly popular as pets. However, if you would like milk or kids in the future, it is worthwhile to invest in does.

We only have one doeling left available for the season. She would definitely need a companion, ideally her age. If you were interested in her, I could direct you to another breeder who also has young kids so that she might find a friend. Feel free to email me capsandcreamery@gmail.com if you'd like to visit our farm.

    Thanks for your interest,
    Christine
